About the Facilitator...
Darryl Smolik has a Masters of Education in Leadership (Adult
Education and Community Development) and a Bachelor of Education Degree
in Elementary Curriculum. Her academic papers have been presented at the
University of British Columbia both in Vancouver and Kelowna.
Darryl taught both full and part-time in British Columbia and now
teaches on call as a substitute teacher, allowing her time to present
professional development workshops. She actively advocates for the
rights of teachers and substitute teachers and promotes global education
in her local and provincial teachers’ associations. Several of her
articles, lesson plans and poems are printed in educational journals and
websites.
An active member of her community, Darryl has been the Coordinator of
the Volunteer Fair, the Arrow Lakes Youth Society Summer Drama Project,
and is a board member of the Arrow Lakes Arts Council.
As a trained professional development associate, Darryl facilitates
numerous workshops to teachers and community organizations in both
British Columbia and Alberta. |
